The Denny Leinster Schools Workshop will take place this Saturday, September 27th, on the ground floor of the UCD Arts Block. It will run from approximately 1-4.30pm.
The workshop will be run by experienced college debaters who will outline the basic components of a debate, research, presentation, content, rebuttal, points of information etc. Following this a group of Trinity and UCD's finest speakers will take part in a show debate, the aim of which is to demonstrate the structure, rhythm and development of a debate.
While this workshop is primarily recommended for first-time debaters it also presents an opportunity for more seasoned debaters to develop their knowledge of the competition. Teachers are welcome to accompany their students, although their attendance is not necessary.
The closing date for applications is also approaching. If you have not received an application form they can be downloaded from this website. Send completed forms to Niamh Ni Mhaoileoin, The Hist, Graduates Memorial Building, Trinity College, Dublin 2 or submit by email to
